Ricardo Campello: making a pause in competition | Photo: Carter/PWA

The Brazilian wave and freestyle windsurfing master made an unexpected decision, after finishing the 2015 season in fifth place. Campello will be out of the circuit for an unspecified period.

“I’m gladly and sadly going to tell you that I won’t be competing in any PWA events next year! Time to focus on videos and trips around the world. Time to explore other spots and enjoy a little bit. I will miss the competitions, though,” revealed Ricardo Campello.

The windsurfer, who lives in Venezuela, did not specify the reasons behind his decision. Campello has won three world titles (2003, 2004 and 2005), and has always finished the PWA World Tour season in the top 10.

In 2015, Ricardo Campello’s best result was a fourth place in Tenerife. He is currently riding for Point-7, Patrik, and MFC. One of his career goals is to win the wave world title.
