- 04 July 2016 | Kiteboarding
The event attracted 47 young kiteboarders from 18 countries. The spot of Sant Pere Pescador delivered favorable winds, and the sunny skies were rapidly invaded by the colorful wings of the stars of tomorrow.
Riders also attended several kite clinics, in which pro judges explained how the scoring system works by dissecting judging criteria and trick categories. Kite etiquette was not forgotten, too.
Competitors proved age is not a disadvantage, especially after watching all the slim chances, blind judges, double s-bend to blinds, heart attacks, crow mobes, hinterberger FS3s and backside 313s that were landed in the Youth Cup 2016.
In the end, there could only be five winners. Maxime Chabloz (Under 17 Boys), Claudia León (Under 17 Girls), Oscar Pirreneau (Under 15 Boys), Mikaili Rocha (Under 15 Girls), and Kacper Lepicki (Under 11 Boys) claimed the top spots.
