An extreme windsurfing day at Lake Superior

Welcome to Lake Superior, the largest of the Great Lakes of North America. Shared by Canada and the USA, the spot is known for its very low water temperatures. Some say it’s “like Ireland in winter.”

“With windsurfing, all you need is wind and water. If you’re only going to go to the tropical places, you’re really limiting what you can experience out there in the world,” explains Levi Siver.

“I like trying new things, and I like going to places I haven’t been. And more than that, I try to go somewhere not knowing what I am going to get,” notes Browne.

Despite the frigid conditions, the trio enjoyed beautiful wave ramps and windy conditions under snowy skies. Testing the human limits, and exploring the ultimate frontiers – this is what extreme windsurfing is all about.
