Chapter One - The Kiteboard Legacy: the ultimate kiteboarding movie

The wind, the waves, the spots, and the stars. The new movie directed by Bob Van de Gronde explores the essence of riding a kite, and it was shot using state-of-the-art camera technique.

Pete Cabrinha, Aaron Hadlow, Jesse Richman, Ruben Lenten, Robby Naish, and even Richard Branson share their stories, and their experiences with the viewers while performing the thrilling maneuvers and tricks.

“I first kited about 14 years ago, and now I find kiting the best sport in the world. You get away from the hustle bustle of life and bounce over the waves. You just go where the wind takes you,” says Richard Branson.

“Chapter One – The Kiteboard Legacy” is a huge step forward. Kiteboarding has never had such a spectacular cinematic production. The movie is a joint-venture between WeTransfer, Eyeforce, and Red Bull.

“With ‘Chapter One,’ we wanted to make a travel and adventure film that would appeal to both kiteboarders and people that have never flown a kite before,” notes filmmaker Van de Gronde.

“We spent two years traveling the globe documenting kiters from very different walks of life, from Bebe, a local talent from a small Brazilian fishing village, to Sir Richard Branson, who kiteboards around his private island in the Caribbean.”

If you have never ridden a kite, “Chapter One” will definitely make you want to give it a go. If you’re an avid kiteboarder, you’ll surely book a trip to Fiji, Brazil or Hawaii. Because kiteboarding is where the wind blows.

“Chapter One – The Kiteboard Legacy” premieres on the 15th September 2016 in San Francisco, California.
